The VidiU iOS application enables users to conveniently monitor and configure their Teradek VidiU encoder via WiFi remotely.
The Teradek VidiU offers the flexibility to broadcast high-definition video live to the web without the need for a PC. Whether one is streaming from a video switcher or wirelessly from a camera, the VidiU allows users to initiate live broadcasts at their preferred time and location.
VidiU facilitates seamless API-level integration with popular platforms like Ustream and the new Livestream, simplifying the streaming process to your channel by just logging into your account.
Moreover, VidiU provides users with the ability to select the CDN that best suits their needs. With VidiU's generic RTMP interface, live video content can be streamed to a Wowza server or any preferred platform whenever necessary.
Equipped with dual-band MIMO WiFi capabilities, Ethernet connectivity, or compatibility with a single 3G/4G USB modem, VidiU caters to various streaming preferences. Its rechargeable Li-Ion battery ensures up to 60 minutes of cable-free operation for wireless events.
The iOS application offered by VidiU allows users to stream a second video feed to their mobile device, facilitating real-time monitoring of live broadcasts. By acting as its own dual-band Access Point, users can opt to directly connect their iPad or iPhone to the device or their local network.
Connect your HDMI video source to the VidiU and stream resolutions reaching up to 1080p. The VidiU encodes video in real-time utilizing high-profile H.264 compression and AAC audio at speeds of up to 5Mbps. Embedded HDMI audio, headphone output, and mic/line input are all supported.
Utilize ShareLink functionality to pool bandwidth resources (up to 4 iPhones/iPads) for enhanced streaming capabilities during live broadcasts. The novel backgrounding system for ShareLink ensures continuous bandwidth sharing even when the app is not active, provided that you share your location.
Keep in mind that sustained use of GPS in the background may significantly reduce battery life.
